TECH WEEKLY: Inside the unique McLaren brake design which helped Norris beat Leclerc in Mexico

A key part of Lando Norris’ successful challenge on Charles Leclerc’s second place in Mexico was the stark contrast in control of the brake temperatures between the McLaren and the Ferrari.
The thin air of Mexico carries around 25% less cooling power for the brakes than a track at sea level and keeping control of the temperatures of both discs and callipers is very often the single most influential factor on race pace.
